I’m a always up for trying a new skincare product from 100% Pure! They’ve created some of my all time favorites in clean/green beauty over the years. Over the past six weeks I’ve been trying out a few of their newer items including the Tea Tree & Willow Clarifying Cleanser, Green Tea EGCG Concentrate Serum and Cream, and Retinol PM Eye Cream. Here are my thoughts…

Tea Tree & Willow Clarifying Cleanser
I’m a huge fan of tea tree for it’s antimicrobial, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. And willow bark contains salicylic acid, which helps to fight acne and is gentle exfoliant. While I love the ingredients in this cleanser, the consistency took a bit of getting used to. It is very thin (not even as firm as a gel) and has a slippery consistency that does not foam up in the least (it also must be shaken before each use). I found it is best applied to a dry face because if you apply to an already wet face it just gets lost because it is so runny. So, it is best to massage into dry skin and then rinse it off. It does an okay job of removing makeup as long as you aren’t wearing too much or anything waterproof.
I was hoping it would help with some of the minor breakouts I’ve been having around my hairline and jaw, but it didn’t really. However, I’m pretty sure that is stress/hormone related so not something a cleanser can magically make disappear.
This is a very gentle daily cleanser and for the most part I felt it did a great job of keeping my skin soft, clean, and balanced (I have combination skin). I like the light herbal scent from the natural ingredients and would recommend for combination skin types. It didn’t feel like it was exfoliating quite as much as I wanted it to though. I typically use just my hands no konjac sponge or anything. So what I did was mix it with a gentle rice powder a few times per week for a bit more texture and it worked wonderfully with that. In all honesty, the tea tree does leave you feeling very refreshed, but I think this one on it’s own was perhaps too gentle for me?
Green Tea EGCG Concentrate Serum
I loved this serum ad ran out of it well before the cleanser and cream. So, my only gripe about this is the tube needs to be bigger! I ran out of it in 6 weeks and didn’t even use the recommended amount (they suggest a quarter size but I only used a dime size), and still have several weeks left of the cleanser and cream. It is a very lightweight cream/gel blend and also has a light herbal/tea scent which I enjoyed. My skin soaked it right up and it just felt really nice on my skin. On hot muggy days I just used this and no moisturizer after and it was the perfect light layer of moisture/nutrients for the skin and to prep for concealer. This one has a pump for the dispenser.
EGCG, is the critical phytochemical and active ingredient in green tea and is an antioxidant / delays signs of aging.
Green Tea EGCG Concentrate Cream
A beautiful cream and I love that this tube has a small nose tip applicator (I think that’s what it’s called). This one smells just like the serum and contains very similar ingredients but is much thicker and does feel a tiny bit tacky/sticky just for a bit right after you apply it. A little goes a long way though and it doesn’t stay tacky for long. This one also says to apply a quarter size amount. Half of that is enough. Enjoying this one.
This little tube will last a long time. I don’t use it every single night, but often. A little goes a long way and the little needle tip is always preferable to dipping your finger into a jar of eye cream! So much more sanitary this way. Again, they advise to apply a quarter size amount to your ring fingers to then apply to eye area… that is way too much! A pea-size amount is more like it.
This formula contains vitamins, stem cells, and peptides that promote collagen production, elasticity, and lessen appearance of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid locks in hydration and plumps, while acai and pomegranate oils moisturize. I feel as far as eye creams go this is a very nice formula, second only to 100% Pure’s own Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream (which I recommend for the AM, as this one is a PM only cream). Let’s get real, eye creams aren’t going to make your fine lines or wrinkles disappear, but this one does help to lessen the appearance (and the coffee bean one really does help de-puff). I do notice my eyes look better in the morning after having applied this the night before.
100% Pure continues to create fantastic skincare products with the best ingredients. I’ve been a fan of their company for about 5-6 years now and will continue to support them. They come out with innovative formulas each season and currently you can get 25% OFF on their Skin Clarifying Trio including tea tree cleanser, hydrating moisturizer and anti-acne sheet masks if you’re interested in trying something new. xo – Naomi

July 4, 2018 at 11:13 am (5 years ago)Hey, I just wanted to suggest a muslin face cloth for washing if you just use your hands? It in itself is a very gentle exfoliater so it might work nicely with the cleanser. I find it really helps make your skin feel clean and fresh, especially when you use hot water.
