Serums are one of those things you don’t necessarily think you need as part of your skincare routine, that is until you try a great one. I’ve tried many different face serums over the years and I can tell after using the Poetique Radiance Boosting Serum daily for two weeks now that this is one of the good ones. And this really excites me because they are based out of New England, have beautiful packaging, are cruelty free, and made with effective natural ingredients.
This formulation’s star ingredients are caviar limes and three varieties of wild plums, sourced from the rain forests of Australia. You can read more about those ingredients here. It also contains honeysuckle extract which I love in anything.
Caviar Limes: These contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, that work gently exfoliate the skin.
Wild Plums: Varieties including Kakadu, Illawarra and Burdekin. These have high level of anthocyanin (gives red, purple, and blue plants their coloring) and vitamin C which can slow down damaging free radical activity, helping to restore and protect skin.
How it feels: It’s light, silky gel-like consistency absorbs quickly, and preps the skin for your moisturizer.
It is a good sign when you look forward to using a product twice a day, and feel that spark of joy when you pick up the bottle. I definitely get that when using the Poethique Radiance Boosting Serum. Not only that, but I’ve noticed my skin has definitely looked more even, I haven’t had one blemish since using this stuff, and my skin just feels healthier and brighter. I don’t wear a lot of makeup everyday to begin with, but I typically have to spend time putting on concealer. Since using this I’ve honestly felt so good about my skin I’ve gone out of the house several times without even a drop of concealer (though I probably could use just a bit just under my eyes, haha!)
It says to use a pea-size amount when applying, but I usually use twice that as it absorbs fast and I want to feel like no part of my face has been left untouched by it. Even so it seems like this will last a long while.
The fact that the weather here has been incredibly cold and dry the last week or two is also testament to how this serum has kept my skin in top shape. It is so cold and dry here that I’ve been getting nosebleeds… but hey, my skin looks good! I also tried two single-use packets of their Deeply Cleansing Milk, and really like that, but it is hard to form a full opinion from just using it twice of course. Overall I give this product two thumbs up and would highly recommend it if you’re in need of a new serum!
