I recently mentioned in my fall favorites video that I’ve been loving the Daily Face Cream from Lime & Lotus Organics. However, I don’t use it as a daily face cream – and I’ll explain in a minute. I’m a fan of how this product is packaged, and love the all natural ingredients including coconut oil, Shea butter, Bulgarian rose essential oil, rosemary essential oil and more. This stuff is fantastic for damaged and/or dry skin! I’d definitely recommend it this season as we head into the cold and dry winter months here in the northern hemisphere.
Why I don’t consider this a cream: In my opinion this should be called a balm. It is a thick oil-based formula that acts like an intense overnight treatment. It’s consistency, as you can see in the photos below, is more of a solid that melts into a thick oil once it warms on your skin, and not actually a cream at all. I just want to mention this in case you expect to find a typical cream/lotion consistency in this pretty little jar. I find this product to be a very effective intensive overnight moisturizer though and that is what I use it for. I personally find it too heavy to use as a daily “cream.”
I find it to be very healing. For example, when I had a blemish that I should have left untouched but didn’t and as a result created some scarring – this stuff really helped to speed up healing the scar! Each time I used it my skin always felt ultra hydrated and balanced by the next day. It is also great for dry, cracked skin on your hands!
Because this formula is created without synthetics or preservatives it does have a shorter shelf-life than many products out there – but the fact that you’ll be using something so natural and nourishing is totally worth it! You just have to make sure to use it up within four months (I did keep mine for longer and after about six months the smell started to change and I could tell it wasn’t fresh anymore. Luckily I’d used almost all of it by that time. If I’d been using it daily I would have finished it in probably two months). This does not contain any fragrance, parabens, sulfates, colors or phthalates. Yay!
I hope you enjoyed this quick little review. – Naomi
