Hello Beauties! It has been such a busy summer so far, so there haven’t been many posts, but I come to you today with a skincare review that I’m quite excited about! Over the past month I’ve been trying out the Willing Beauty HY+5 Regimen. This set of pretty sky-blue bottles delivers high quality skincare that is super gentle and age-defying. The regimen is designed designed to defend against environmental aggressors such as UVA/UVB rays, pollution, and harsh climate, that can lead to lines, wrinkles, and discoloration. I don’t often try complete sets like this, I usually mix and match my products, but I love how easy this has made my skincare routine!
These babies are free of parabens, sulfates, DEA, phthalates, and synthetic fragrance.
MORNING ROUTINE
DO OVER Nourishing Cleanser: I really like the consistency of this forumula. It is silky and smooth, and at first looks like a balm but it foams into a nice lather and gently cleans away dirt and makeup. It leaves my skin fresh, soft, and doesn’t dry it out. I’d definitely say this is safe for sensitive skin. My super sensitive skin loves it. The HY+5 Complex contains some wonderful ingredients such as hyaluronic acid (plumping and moisturizing), prickly pear cactus, edelweiss, apple fruit extract, and rosebud powder which helps to very, very gently exfoliate. Two thumbs up!
DAYDREAM Illuminating Day Moisturizer: This stuff is awesome! I just really wish it came in at least a 2oz bottle (the one in this set is only 1oz). This is a wonderfully lightweight formula that doesn’t leave any residue. I’m obsessed. To me it smells lightly of violets… like actual wild violets and violas … not the artificial scent you might be thinking of.
GET SET SPF 30 Tinted Primer: This is my least favorite item in this set, but only because the shade is just a little too dark for me. However, if I use a really thin layer and really blend in it does give a nice summer glow and gave me a nice soft-focus finish. If I was actually outside more and enjoying summer instead of having been inside working so much these past few months it might have been a better match! I do hope they start offering in a few different shades though.
NIGHT ROUTINE
PARTNER IN TIME Age-Defying Night Serum: This is a smooth serum packed with nutrients that helps your skin recover/repair overnight. I love how it is not too heavy and really soaks right in.
SLEEPOVER Replenishing Night Cream: Paired with the above serum, or even on it’s own, I love using this at night. It really leaves my skin feeling silky and very well moisturized, but it is not as heavy as a lot of night creams out there. I’d call it a mid-weight night cream. I’ve been waking up the next morning with my skin looking not half bad considering I’ve been pulling 70+ hour weeks on my new start-up and have been sleeping in a sleeping bag on my floor for 3 months because I am trying to save up for a new bed / going through a divorce / looking for a new place to live (aka: life stress). Seriously, I’m surprised my skin has been looking pretty good lately and I think these products certainly have a hand in that.
