I love a good face mask, especially one that really works to detoxify, purify, and brighten! Sand & Sky sent me their Brilliant SkinTM Purifying Pink Clay Mask to try out and I have to say, I really love it! Some detoxifying masks just don’t seem to make much of a difference, or they irritate my sensitive skin and I can’t use them at all. The entire experience of using Sand & Sky was so relaxing, and I saw instant results right after use, and the next day noticed that my skin looked and felt pretty great. It couldn’t have been better timing too because my skin has been feeling a little lackluster lately (stress tends to do that to you).

I love the silky texture of the Australian pink (Kaolin) clay that gives this formula its gorgeous blush color. It also includes several other nourishing ingredients such as licorice root, aloe vera, pomegranate, mangosteen, and kakadu plum. This formula is actually a 4 in 1 treatment to detoxify, invigorate, refine, and brighten. And you only have to leave it on for about 10 minutes for it to work its magic. Plus, no toxic ingredients! No parabens etc, and of course it is cruelty-free.

The box includes a little brush to help you apply the mask and I absolute love this! I wish all masks came with this brush and I’m so glad I have it now. It was not only fun to apply this way but made it so easy to apply an even layer and there was less mess because I didn’t have to get it all over my hands. Mine took about 11-12 minutes to fully dry (I guess the drying time depends on how thick you apply the mask), and it rinsed off easily with warm water. After patting my skin dry, I inspected my face in the mirror and noticed that my skin did look a bit brighter, and certainly looked and felt a bit tighter. The next day I noticed that a few acne scars I’d had were very much improved, and my pores did look the slightest bit less noticeable so I think this mask also has a somewhat restorative/healing effect.

I was definitely impressed with this mask and would recommend it if you are looking to try out a new mask. I think this one is great for combination skin!
