Hello beauties! Recently I’ve tried the Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Wash and wanted to share my thoughts with you. I was intrigued to try a face wash that contains African Black Soap, not only because of the beautiful color but because it is known for its ability to lift dead skin cells and cleanse away impurities. It is great for blemish-prone skin and also aging skin. I also tried a few of their other products. Read on for details!

Using this face wash is a bit different from your normal quick lather and rinse. To use it you apply to wet face (not too wet, damp is more like it), and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then you wash it off with warm water in circular motions, exfoliating any dead skin cells as you go. The box mentions you might feel a slight tingling sensation as it sits for those 5-10 minutes, and I did each of the dozen times I’ve used this so far but it was nothing extreme. Just a very minor tingling feeling on the surface of the skin.

Each time I’ve used this my skin feels very even, fresh, and smooth. I cannot say for sure whether or not it helps with significant acne because I only have the occasional hormonal / stress breakout these past few years but I can say that my skin really loves this stuff and I would definitely recommend it. It can also be made into a facial scrub by adding a spoonful of sugar!

I also tried their Chocolate & Rose Hips Beauty Masque. If you love chocolate then WOW is this stuff for you. This rich formula is packed with antioxidants, plenty of cocoa powder, and vitamins. It is velvety and smells of a very sweet chocolate. In fact almost too sweet for my liking, but there I go being picky again. This mask can be left on for 15-30 minutes (I usually do 20) and can be used every week. It is great for helping your skin recover from the day-to-day of sun damage, chemicals, and aging. It is 100% preservative free which I love.

Their Moroccan Rose Beauty Water is a floral water / hydrosol that is so soothing and smells gorgeous. It is a very sweet smelling rose water and the scent does linger on your skin for a while after you spray. It can be used as a toner, to mix with powders to create a mask, or just to rehydrate and soothe throughout the day. Again, no preservatives, just one ingredient: Pure Moroccan rose water.

I did also try their Night Nourishment Nutrient Serum and although it did make me skin feel great, the scent of it was just too strong for me. Overall I am very impressed with this brand. They have so many more products and I’d definitely recommend checking them out! Personally I want to try all of their face masques. They look so good! xo – Naomi
