Humble Brands kindly sent me their all natural deodorant to try out three weeks ago and I have been using the Essential Lavender one each day. These are currently made in three “scents” – Essential Cedarwood, and Simply Unscented being the other two. These only contain 4-5 ingredients! I love a good simple product. Humble is cruelty-free, organic/non GMO, and free of aluminum, parabens, dyes, artificial bactericides, and alcohol.
I have tried out a few other natural deodorants and prior to this one had been using the Nubian Heritage Honey and Black Seed All Natural Deodorant for several months. I liked that one but the scent was very strong – almost too strong. It took me a while to get used to. Humble deodorants on the other hand are only very lightly scented and I can hardly smell it once I’ve applied it. While some people might not like that, I absolutely love it because as a botanical perfumer, I don’t want to be wearing a deodorant that interferes with my nose while working with essential oils in my lab. Also, in my opinion, I don’t believe your deodorant should double as your perfume.
Humble deodorant contains these simple ingredients: organic corn starch, organic olive oil, organic beeswax, all natural baking soda, and the lavender and cedarwood also contain essential oil, of course.
I find you have to warm the stick on your skin for a moment before applying (probably because I live in freezing Vermont) but once it warms a bit it glides right on. An extra few seconds is a small price to pay for keeping unwanted chemicals off your skin and out of your bloodstream. I really like this formula and have found that it does a good job of keeping odor at bay for a full day. I haven’t used it during any intense workouts so I can’t report on that, but for day-to-day use I am very happy with it. I plan on convincing my whole family that they should switch to using this deodorant, and would definitely repurchase.
Humble deodorants are $7.50 each if you subscribe for recurring delivery (every 1, 2, or 3 months), or $8.00 for a one-time purchase. Definitely one of the best all natural deodorants I’ve tried in the past several years and I’d highly recommend! xo – Naomi*DisclaimerThis post includes pr samples. I tried this deodorant once while I was wearing a white shirt. It gave me huge yellow “pit stains” which I have never had in my life. I thought It might have been me so I gave it a few days and put on an old white shirt and re applied. Sure enough the same thing happened again. I asked my wife to try so she did with a grey shirt. Same thing… Would not recommend.

That is very odd. I love it and still wear it every day. Have never had that problem. Both my Mom and brother love it too! It may have something to do with what is in your sweat more than the deodorant itself. Remember this is not an antiperspirant, it is a deodorant.

I also love this product AND find that it stains certain materials yellow. I’ll be more diligent treating the armpits before washing.
I hate to give it up though.
