Earlier this Fall Alima Pure refreshed their look with new packaging and released their new Pressed Powder Foundation with Rosehip Antioxidant Complex. I’ve been using it almost daily for two months now and thought it was time I reported my thoughts! I wear it in the shade Aspen (fair neutral/warm) and am very happy with how that shade has been working for me. I might be able to get away with wearing the shade Sesame if I had a slight tan and I think Nutmeg would actually be a great contour shade for my skin. They have 11 shades if you’re wondering.

alima pure pressed powder foundation review 2

It is described on their website as “A lightweight pressed mineral powder with a velvety, matte finish in a refillable compact for easy, on the go application.” I also find it to be velvety and easy to apply. I’ve been using it two different ways. On days when I want very light coverage I’ll use a flat topped kabuki brush to apply a thin layer over my T-zone / set my concealer. On days that I want more of a medium coverage I’ll use the applicator sponge included with it and then buff out with a brush if necessary. I love the matte finish it creates – it seems to keep any shine at bay for a long time. It gives a nice even coverage and a very natural look so that you can hardly tell you’re wearing a “foundation.”

It hasn’t irritated my skin at all, and I keep reaching for it day after day, so I must love it! It contains moisturizing and calming ingredients such as Sunflower Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Argan Kernel Oil, Aloe Leaf Extract, Calendula Flower Extract, Grape Leaf Extract, Rosehip Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Lavender Oil, and Chamomile Flower Extract. All Alima Pure products are free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, phthalates, dimethicone, petroleum, talc, bismuth oxychloride, and nanoparticles. Also cruelty free. I love that is is refillable and less than $35. I give this two thumbs up!

alima pure new luna highlighter

I’ve also fallen in love with their new highlighter in Luna – a glowing gold (they also have three other gorgeous highlighter shades, dolce, lumina, and whisper). This is a loose powder highlighter that is very finely milled (no glitter chunks here). It is gold but with barely-there undertones of iridescence. I’m obsessed with this. I’ve been using a feathery stippling brush to sweep it over my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. Sometimes I’ll dip my pinky finger in it to apply on my brow bone. Also nice that the container it comes in has a twist top so you can lock off the product.

Around the same time they released two new shades in their Velvet Lipstick collection and changed the packaging to these sleek black bullets – which I love but now they don’t match the rest of my lipsticks from them. #makeupcollectorissues. I LOVE these new shades Caroline and Louise though!

The semi-matte formula is the same and you can see my review and other colors of these here. I wear these ALL the time and can honestly say they’ve become some of my “regulars” this year.

They have a gorgeous holiday set of all these – the Ultimate Lipstick Set for $150, which is a great way to get all of them and save $58. Plus they contribute $5 from each Holiday Set sold to the Global Fund For Women. If I didn’t already own most of their colors, I’d be all over that!

I hope you enjoyed this post! And if you haven’t already, make sure to enter my 1k Instagram giveaway going on right now. xo – Naomi
