When I think of energy noir, I think of the mystery of the night, moody hues and moonlight. Tarte’s new fall collection embodies just that, and they’ve created some gorgeous pieces for this collection. My favorite being the limited-edition energy noir clay palette  (I mentioned in my recent list of favorite palettes) which I couldn’t help photographing with a few of my amethyst and quartz crystals.

The lid of the palette sort of reminds me of amethyst and the gorgeous selection of purples inside have a sort of mystical yet glamorous vibe. The case is accented with gold, has a huge mirror, and is super sturdy. I love the feel of it and it is just a gorgeous design overall. Inside are eight clay-infused shadows (full moon, charged up, dark drive, stone unturned, up too slate, misty mauve, power plum, and lunar eclipse), a blush in unearthed, and highlighter in crystal spark.

I absolutely love these colors (if I were ever to design my own palette it would just be like a dozen different purples by the way). They are easy to blend and have great staying power. I love that most of them are matte, except ‘charged up’ and ‘up too slate.’

Then there are the new lip shades in this collection. The LipSurgence™ skintuitive lip gloss
in energy noir and LipSurgence™ skintuitive™ lip tint in energy noir. I typically don’t love lip products that use pH-adjusting technology – they typically all turn a bright pink on me, but these are different. The tint created a gorgeous berry shade that wasn’t too intense, and the gloss turned a pale/clear lavender. I love both of these! They’re super moisturizing and the tint has a minty scent, and the gloss a sugary one.

Another of my favorites from this collection is the new swirl power contour & bronzer brush. I’m not about those overly contoured looks, as you know, but this brush makes it super easy to get a natural, not overdone contour in no time at all – and their park ave princess bronzer is perfect with it (seen here with the new park ave princess™ contour palette: vol II). It is the perfect shape, super soft, and just does the job right. It is now one of my favorite tools.

684Speaking of contouring and such, their new double-ended contour & highlighter stick called the sculptor is a really cool 2-in-1 product. I use my fingers to help blend this out and use the contour end very sparingly as I’m fair skinned. The highlighter end has amazing shimmer to it and the formula is creamy and very blendable. I hope they make a stick with just this highlighter in it too! Each end is twist-up and you get about a half an inch more of product than the tip that already shows. I feel this is a great product for $26 and would be a great product to travel with.

You can see the rest of their fall collection here. As always their products are formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan, synthetic fragrances and gluten.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I for one can’t wait to use that palette this fall with some dark, moody lip colors! 😉 xo – Naomi

the highlight in that duo is stunning! I’m hesitant to pick it up because that contour looks like it would be a mess on my pale complexion

The contour does look dark (I passed it about 3 times for the swatch), but I use it very, very sparingly and blend blend blend (I have a pale complexion too). I’ll definitely go through the highlighter but doubt I’ll ever finish the contour side! 🙂
