Happy 4th of July! I hope you’re all having fun in the summer sun today…perhaps you’re even at the beach getting in touch with your inner ocean goddess. I have a mermaid-inspired look for you today, created with Alima Pure’s new Tides Summer 2015 Collection. Inspired by the surf, sand, and sea…I instantly fell in love with these beautiful limited-edition colors.
The collection includes satin matte eyeshadows in sage, aquamarine, and cobalt, a luminous shimmer eyeshadow in shell, a satin matte blush in wild rose, and a highlighter called sandstone. These can all be purchased separately.
Sage: This is such a unique color! soft, creamy matte pastel green.
Aquamarine: Soft pastel light blue
Cobalt: Rich and smooth bright blue.
Shell: Sheer shimmering cream, works beautifully as an intense highlight.
Wild Rose: Matte dusty pink with a slight coral undertone.
Sandstone: A very subtle, finely-milled highlight that could be used as a gentle bronzer for some. Hard to see on my hand above so I also swatched on my finger below.
There are so many different looks you could create with this collection, but this is how I was inclined to use these colors. I also created this fun shell tiara for this look! All I need is a glittering tail and a dinglehopper to comb my hair with! #littlemermaidfanforever
The Look
Face: Juice Beauty Perfecting Foundation + Alima Pure Keiko Satin Finishing Powder / Wild Rose blush and Sandstone highlighter on cheeks.
Eyeshadow: Sage over entire lid, Aquamarine in crease, shell on browbone, cobalt as liner on top and bottom, slightly winged out. Tip: I used Alima Pure’s #31 brush (Fine Liner Concealer) for the cobalt liner and dampened the brush to create a more precise line.
Eyeliner: Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencil in Paper on lower waterline only with slight wing below blue wing.
Mascara: Pacifica Stella Gaze Length & Strength Mineral Mascara
Lips: Alima Pure lip tint in the shade Petal.
I’ve long been a fan of Alima Pure’s eyeshadow formulations and was super excited to add these to my growing collection. I don’t normally go for blues so it was fun to create this unique, summery look and get out of my comfort zone a bit!
Here is a closer look at the eyeshadow (captured with a different camera, so the light is slightly different here).
I hope you enjoyed this look and seeing these new colors from Alima Pure! If you create a look with this collection I’d love to see it on Instagram! Use #alimapuretides so I can find you ; ) Have a happy and safe holiday and I’ll be back with another post soon! xo – Naomi
