I haven’t posted a maven unboxing in a several months. I skipped a few months because I wasn’t crazy about the selections and needed to be conscious of my budget, but the great thing about Julep is you can skip the month if you want, no questions asked. I’m in love with the colors this June however, and was so excited to get these in the mail a week ago!
My actual box included Isabela, Zelda, and Manda (left), but I ended up getting Flora (right) for free because it was the first month they were accepting payments via PayPal (which I used) and it took them a bit longer. Fine with me! Free polish, yay! The box came with a coupon code and two Chupa Chups.
From top to bottom: Flora, Manda, Zelda, Isabela
I tried out Manda right away. Its been a while since I’ve been so genuinely intrigued by a nail color – I just find this one to be so unique. It is a fresh sky blue with a hint of mint cream and a pearly undercurrent of fine gold shimmer. I specifically chose Zelda as my third item in this box because I had a feeling it was going to be a great accent and I absolutely love it with Manda! Though I know Zelda (a champagne metallic) will be amazing on its own as well. Together as they are here I think it looks kind of boho chic and summery without being extremely bold.
I have a hard time finding blue polishes I like, but this one I actually do really like. It is the perfect cobalt cream (super glossy), and reminds me of those gorgeous photos from Greece of the white buildings on the hills above the ocean, capped in this same blue. It would also be the perfect blue to pair with a bright yellow to create Swedish flags on my nails which I’ve been wanting to do (I’m part Swedish on my mother’s side). Very happy with this one!

Flora…hmmm. I was really excited about this one, and loved how it looked when I began painting with it. When it was wet it was gorgeous, but then it dried to a sort of semi-matte finish which I wasn’t expecting. There is no mention of it being matte in the description on their site and it looks shiny on their photos. I can create the look I want by using a clear coat on top but was just a little disappointed that it wasn’t glossy on its own. Still, look at that color. Gorgeous fuchsia (or as they describe it, dragonfruit). Love the color and the little blue shimmer in it.
