Today I’m sharing what I think of Au Naturale’s lip products! Can never have enough lip products. I tried a few of their lip glosses, a lip crayon, and a few of their lipsticks. Au Naturale products are produced in the USA with organic ingredients. All of their lip products are vegan, cruelty-free, and free of parabens and artificial fragrances.

Au Naturale Lipgloss and Lipstick Review

Lip Gloss
Ah! Don’t they look so pretty? Like a colorful sunset. These lip glosses ($15) are amazing but be warned, they do separate and you kind of have to stir them up a bit before each use. It is just because of the natural ingredients (natural oils such as olive oil, apricot kernel oil, broccoli seed oil etc) and zero preservatives that they do this I think. I don’t mind stirring (can also shake them like a nail polish). It’s worth it for how beautiful they look and how smooth they feel. They deliver a good dose of shine, pretty, buildable color that looks great layered over their lipsticks, and they just feel great on my lips. They’re moisturizing and aren’t sticky at all – they tend to last quite a long while also. Interesting to note that the shade ‘violet’ doesn’t really separate or need to be stirred like the others and is a thicker consistency with an even more powerful punch of color.

They all have a kind of watercolor quality to them except Violet. I’m not sure if maybe this was from a separate batch, or an updated formula perhaps? I enjoy both consistencies though.

I tried their lipsticks ($22) in Wild Lotus and Primrose. They both go on kind of sheer but you can build them up and they create a great base for applying lip gloss over. I like how they aren’t super opaque because you want to have some in your collection that don’t need to be applied precisely with a lip brush. Layering Wild Lotus with the same color of lip gloss creates an deep purple lip but that has dimension and isn’t one flat layer of color. Primrose is the perfect everyday rose that you don’t even need a mirror to apply. These are moisturizing and yet matte finish.

The lip crayon ($19.50) in English rose is packed with shimmery pigment, glides on super creamy (reminded me of a creamy eye pencil) and almost has a rose gold / metallic quality to it. Yet it isn’t heavy on the lips. If you like metallic finishes I’d definitely recommend this!

I should mention that I also absolutely love their organic crème highlighter stick and pixie blusher, which I gave awards to in issue 3 of Sweet Violet Bride! I mentioned the pixie blusher in my October 14′ favorites which you can see here. I hope you enjoyed this post and perhaps learned about a new natural brand! Today is the last day of their 30% off spring sale so if you want to try some of these out today’s the day! I might pick up a few more glosses myself ; ) xo – Naomi
