I had been wanting to try butter London nail lacquers for some time and finally did at the end of last year. Their cute shape, fun names, and color selection is enticing. Scrolling through the 115+ colors on their site can almost put one into a “I must collect them all” trance. Plus…I just love the name ‘butter.’ These are also 3-free, or I wouldn’t have bothered trying them. Sure, there are other nail polish brands out there that are more than 3-free, but these are, at least that. I tried them in what I thought would be pretty colors for brides: Fruit Machine, Alabaster Gaze, Hen Party, Fairy Lights, Toff, and Goss. I think Doily Overcoat would be amazing for brides too, but they were out of stock every time I checked their site for the last 2 months, until today – figures.
The first thing I noticed about these is that they dry super fast. If I needed to do my nails before I left the house and only had 10 minutes before going out the door, I’d choose one of these. They pretty much dry instantly. The downside to these though, is that they don’t last quite as long as some other brands I’ve tried.
Here are swatches of the six I tried. Sorry for the variations in lighting. I took these all on different days.
I love the foil finishes…these seem to dry even fast than the regular ones. Fairly Lights might be my ultimate favorite of the bunch…the name is SO me! Plus I love the shimmery rose foil look. It makes me smile all day long when I wear it.
In a nutshell: Love the colors and finishes they offer, love their look (fun to display on a shelf), 3-free, fast drying, but not as long-wearing as I’d like.
I hope this helps you make a decision if you were thinking about trying this brand and perhaps got some pretty ideas for bridal nail colors! xo – Naomi
