Its Julep box time! I just love getting these boxes in the mail each month, and January’s was extra special as they included a unique gift – a metamorphic top coat. I hear they are including an extra “gift polish” in the February box too…so exciting! One of the many perks of being a Julep Maven.
In this month’s box I got two polishes from the January Chrysalis Collection: Casey and Sandi, the new Luxe Lip Treatment in Sheer Pink, Junior Mints (yum!), and the Metamorphic Top Coat in Tilda. I think there were three different Metamorphic “colors” that went out in the boxes this month and Tilda is a ethereal greenish shimmer that reminds me of the wings of a Blue Pearl Morpho butterfly, just more green instead of blue but it has that same iridescence. It can completely change the color you put it over. When I put it over Sandi, it turned it greenish even though Sandi is a dark purple. Casey was similar in color anyway so it just gave it a cool shimmer when I applied it over that. You can buy that butterfly from the Etsy shop Bug Under Glass, by the way.

As usual these are all 5-free and vegan, and the Luxe Lip is paraben free and sulfate free. It is super silky and hydrating due to the ingredients including omega-rich pumpkin oil, sunflower wax, vitamin E, and green coffee bean oil. I think if I get another I’ll go for a darker color because the sheer pink honestly is so light it is barely noticeable when applied. This can be really nice if going for a super natural look though. What is really unique about this treatment/gloss is the Zamac applicator tip. It is a shiny silver tip that stays really cold, even when the gloss is kept at room temperature. It is super refreshing and I feel like it soothes my lips as I’m applying.

A lot happened between my monthly Julep boxes this holiday season! They had so many great deals that I couldn’t resist adding to my collection at such low prices. These are just a few of the Julep goodies I collected over the past two months and I didn’t pay full price for any of them. I’m getting to the point where I need to figure out a creative storage solution for my Julep polishes! I want to display them all as they are so pretty to look at but my one shelf isn’t enough anymore. I’m not gonna lie, it can be addictive. But they also now have the option of skipping the month if it becomes too much or isn’t in your budget that month.
