I discovered Fig + Yarrow a few months ago and am so impressed with the three items I’ve tried so far. Fig + Yarrow is an artisan apothecary, handcrafted in small batches in Colorado and they use only the best botanical ingredients. I tried their Bath + Body Oil in Meadow, Complexion Water in Rose/Sandalwood/Neroli, and Rose + Vanilla Tinted Lip Blush.
I love that even their packaging is clean, pure, and calming. Though I love all three of these products I’ve come to use the complexion water the most (and included it in issue 3 of Sweet Violet Bride) so I’ll start with that one first.
Complexion Water (Rose/Sandalwood/Neroli)
I’m a huge fan of complexion waters, tonics, facial mists – whatever you want to call them. And this one is just heavenly! It is balancing, toning, and hydrating for the skin, but I use this one mostly for its aromatherapeutic benefits. It is made with certified organic floral distillates and pure essential oils and this particular blend is so lovely it almost puts me in a trance for a second. It is calming, floral (but not too sweet), and pretty. It lifts my mood, and refreshes my mind and body. Neroli is the most prominent note in this blend, I’d say. I have the 1oz. travel size pictured here ($14) but it also comes in a 4oz. ($34). It also comes in a Yarrow/Immortelle/Rockrose version which I have yet to try.
Bath + Body Oil (Meadow)
This oil makes my skin so soft and really holds in the moisture – best to apply when skin is still damp out of the shower or bath. It has base oils of sweet almond, olive, pumpkin and grape and absorbs into skin pretty fast. The scent really is like what you’d smell on the breeze in a golden sunlit meadow, and not overpowering at all. It has organic chamomile, lavender, and marigold flower in it. I have the 4oz. travel size ($28) pictured above, but it also comes in a 8oz. ($44) option. I also pat whatever is leftover on my hands into the ends of my hair as it is a dry time of the year.
Rose+ Vanilla Tinted Lip Blush
This smells SO good! I keep it right on my desk so I have it close – it makes my lips feel so good. It is packed with organic ingredients like avocado oil, shea butter, rosehip oil, cocoa butter, and pomegranate oil to name a few. The wondrous scent comes from vanilla and rose essential oils and together they are one of my favorite combinations for a lip product. The tint is very, very light ( I couldn’t really get a swatch to show up well) but just gives your lips a slight glow – a better version of your natural color. I don’t really wear it for the color but the little hint of rose is like an added bonus to this amazing formula. At just $12, I’d definitely get it again.
I can’t wait to try more of their products and see what Fig + Yarrow does next. Have you tried any of their products? Let me know in the comments below! xo – Naomi
