Happy Holidays! I hope you’ve been enjoying the season with family and friends, and hopefully a few new pretty beauty products you found under the tree! My husband and I went to New Hampshire for Christmas to visit my side of the family and it was a welcome 24-hour break from the non-stop magazine layout I’ve been doing! I now finally have a chance today to share with you this beautiful Vapour Organic Beauty limited edition holiday collection, which they still have available on their site. Thank you for this lovely gift, Vapour!
The collection includes:
Vernissage 5-Free Nail Lacquer in Captive
Elixir Plumping Gloss in Discreet
Mesmerize Eye Shimmer in Ice
Mesmerize Eyeliner in Ink
Limited Edition Vapour Makeup Bag
The makeup bag is made of a super lightweight, water resistant nylon similar to the stuff kites are made of. It is a see-through version of the popular RuMe Pocket. It is food safe to it would be a great little pouch for snacks if you wanted to use it for something other than a makeup pouch.

The eyeliner has a dual tip, one end with the black eyeliner (a true black) and the other with a little sponge tip for blending, which I find to be a great feature because I don’t always want a super precise line. I like it to be a little more blended out and natural. The Elixir gloss in Discreet is a gorgeous almond nude shade with a superfine gold shimmer undertone. It has a brush applicator that loads a lot of gloss on it so I find that it is better to just dab some on with the brush and then actually use the tip of my finger to spread it out. The formula is super smooth, shiny and hydrating and not sticky at all. It does make lips look slightly fuller, too. It’s 100% natural and is gluten-free. Plus 70% of the ingredients are certified organic (as I believe all of their makeup products are).
Left: 5-Free Nail Lacquer in Captive / Right: Mesmerize Eye Color in Ice
Captive is literally the perfect holiday red, though also so versatile for any time of year – such a classic, and classy shade. Their lacquers used to be smaller and only 3-free, so this larger bottle and 5-free formula is a welcome improvement. Ice is a shimmery silvery gray color of their Mesmerize Eye Colors. These come in a cream/solid stick that you can glide right on and then blend with your fingertips. They are long-wearing, and I love that in just one step you look more put together and ready to go out. Curious about their other colors (they have 14 shimmers and 5 non-shimmers), they sent me a few more to swatch for you: Dusk, Smitten, and Gilt. Dusk is a beautiful purple with silvery undertones, Smitten is described on their site as “palest silver green” but it looks to me like a taupe brown – which I love as an everyday neutral, and Gilt is a blonde shade with gold shimmer – super pretty for highlighting the brow bone.
The holiday collection is available for $65 (30% off) retail value $94. So a pretty good deal and a great way to try out some of their stuff if you are new to the brand…or collect more if you’re a fan! By the way, did you know that they use wind power to make many of their products? I think that’s pretty cool. You can also see my review of other Vapour products here and here. I’ll see you all in the New Year! xo – Naomi
