It’s time for a roundup of products I loved during the month of October! There are quite a few! I feel like I had even more favorites than the ones listed below, but I’m always in the process of trying new things and those will just have to be added to my November favorites as long as I continue to love them this month. Here are my mini reviews!
Yogi Tea: Honey Lavender Stress Relief
I don’t drink caffeine, or coffee and have always been more of an herbal tea kind of person. I’ve been loving this tea lately and just bought another box as I finished this one off the other day. I always find I crave a cup of tea more in the fall and winter, naturally, though this tea is great anytime of year. It is made with organic lavender and has a calming, pleasing scent and gentle herbal flavor. It also contains chamomile. As I’ve struggled with anxiety since I can remember, this type of tea is right up my alley. I find this helps me relax before bed.
Fig + Yarrow: Complexion Water in Rose/Sandalwood/Neroli
AHH!!!! I cannot even describe in words how much I love this complexion water. I’m obsessed with facial mists and this is one of my favorites. I use it as a special treat once a day right around the time I start to fade in the middle of the afternoon and it lifts my mood instantly. I look forward to using it each day! It is a hydrating and toning blend that I spritz over my face and hair and it has such a seductive scent of orange blossom and rose petal waters with sustainably harvested sandalwood oil. I have the travel size which is $14. It also comes in a larger size, but I recommend getting the small one first to see if you like it of course.
OFRA Drying Lotion in Nude
I was skeptical of this product at first, but holy cow it works! Even though in my late 20’s my skin breaks out much less than it did 10 years ago, I still get a few blemishes each month (sometimes more than a few). I tried this on the last few spots I had by applying at night and it did indeed dry up what would have become more of a problematic blemish. I noticed a difference after just two days. You have to shake it each time before use as it separates, and it has a little metal ball inside like nail polish to help stir. I find it kind of fun to shake and then use just a drop knowing it will work its magic overnight. It’s just under $20 and well worth it.
Au Naturale Pixie Blusher
I tried this blush for the first time in October and loved it instantly. I’ve been wearing it a lot over the past few weeks. It is a tender light petal pink with just a hint of very fine golden shimmer. It gives such a pretty finish and is beautiful on fair skin – I feel so pretty when wearing it and think it is also a great shade for brides. It’s very youthful looking. Plus l love anything with the word pixie in it! Free of preservatives, parabens, fragrances, additives, bismuth oxychloride, nano-particles and sulfates. Au Naturale blushers are also cruelty free & animal free.
Priti NYC 5 Free Nail Polish in Hardy Water Lily
Obsessed. Priti describes this on their site as “An opaque golden lamee metallic shimmer.” It has a slight rose gold coloring to it and it is just packed with tiny shimmer particles so that literally one coat will cover your nails in metallic prettiness. Though of course two coats is even better. I think this is such a great one for fall and a very elegant polish to wear around the upcoming holidays, but also would be beautiful for brides! I also love the name…they have great names for their polishes. I’ll do a post on more Priti NYC soon. P.S. This is not what I’m wearing in all the other photos in this post – that would be Côte in No.11.
The Balm: Mary-Lou Manizer
After hearing some of my favorite YouTubers rave about this highlighter I just had to try it for myself and yes, it is amazing. It is so hard to see from this picture here but it is the most beautiful gold highlight ever! It really shimmers in the light. I use it as a brow highlight, and at the tops of my cheekbones to illuminate the skin. It literally gives a luminous effect and it makes a great eyeshadow too! I also love that it is talc-free and paraben-free. I’ll be posting a full review of this and their nude eye shadow palette soon so keep an eye out.
Pacifica: Devocean Natural Lipsticks in Firebird and Natural Mystic
I gave these a test drive by wearing Natural Mystic out all day and it lasted a really long time without drying out. They’re super pigmented and are creamy yet have that great staying power. They also smell delicious…like coconut and shea butter…and contain anti-aging benefits. 100% vegan of course.
Acure: Lip Lush in Shmexy
There are so many great ingredients packed into this gloss including Argan Oil, Echinacea, and Edelweiss Stem Cells which help plump and protect lips. I love the smooth, non-sticky consistency, the sheer fuchsia color and the light berry scent (from natural ingredients). It’s subtle and great for everyday wear or layering.
Josie Maran: Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Honeymoon Honey
I’ve made a considerable dent into this one since the photo at left was taken. I’ve really come to like this unique gel blush. It doesn’t look like makeup at all once you blend it in. And this color, I think because it is so close to the color of blood looks especially natural. I’ve been wearing it a lot lately because it is no-fuss and quick. I also wrote about this one here. I would definitely get this again and maybe try some of the other colors.
