I don’t think I’d ever even used a cream blush until last year. It just never occurred to me that it was something I needed in my life. But now that I’ve tried them, I would really rather not live without them. There are still many cream blushes I have yet to try, but so far I’ve been happy with the five brands I’m about to talk about below. And though I feel drawn to different ones on different days, I’d have to say that Vapour Organic Beauty has my overall favorite collection of cream blush at the moment. Before I get into a little review of each one, I’ll state why I’m so in love with this particular type of product in the first place:
- Cream blush looks very natural – more natural than most powders in my opinion, and is very buildable, from a slight natural flush to a bold statement.
- It typically lasts longer than powder blush.
- Cream blush is multi-purpose. These can be used on cheeks, lips, and even eyes. Super useful when traveling. A honeymoon must-pack product.
- If you drop it, it won’t crack out of the pan and crumble.
- They’re best applied with fingertips. To some this might be a negative aspect, but I love using my fingers when applying makeup and find this is best for a no-makeup makeup look.

Vapour Organic Beauty Aura Multi-Use Blush $36
These cream blushes are so wonderful! I love that they come in a twist up stick with beautiful packaging and that they come in many different colors. With just a few dabs you can get sheer coverage and with a little more a vibrant look. They have three different categories of these: classic, stain (longer lasting), and radiant (hint of shimmer). I own some from each category but right now am especially loving Impulse 209 which is a stain (don’t worry it doesn’t really, the color is just a bit more intense). It is a beautiful garnet/ruby red and is so beautiful for fall! A little goes a long way. They also just sent me their new color for fall from the classic collection, Eros 207. It’s a lovely deep dusty rose with a hint of mauve but with gold undertones. Courtesean and Spark from the classic collection are also great to have on hand. These are made with 70% organic ingredients and 30% mineral pigments. They nourishes with Vapour’s face specific infusion of anti-inflammatory Frankincense, antioxidant Tulsi and moisturizing and calming Lotus Flowers and have always been gentle to my sensitive skin.

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush $56
This sleek metal case is so gorgeous and has a nice weight to it in your hands. It slides open from a corner hinge and the best part is that it is refillable. Once the pan runs out you can buy a refill pan, in a different color if you like. This one was sent to me complimentary so I could consider it for the magazine and they sent the shade Abundance. It is a beautiful rosy shade with brown tones and actually can work for a bit of contouring on my pale skin. Super natural flesh tone. This formula is wonderfully smooth and is CCPB Certified Organic and gluten free. Made in Italy which seems really cool to me for some reason. I just love that it is a refillable makeup system! Their whole line is like that.
100% Pure Lip & Cheek Tint $17 and Pot Rouge $18
I’m obsessed with this brand’s entire line of fruit-pigmented makeup. And will have to do a separate post on all their products that I love soon. At a more accessible price point than the other cream blushes mentioned here today these also feel lighter on the wallet. The lip and cheek tints come in these cute little twist ups (I own peach glow and sugar plum) and provide a smooth, sheer tint of color. They’re super smooth and creamy and blend really easily because they have nourishing shea and cocoa butters. They also smell slightly of fruit because, well they’re tinted with it. Smells delicious but not overpowering. The pot rouge comes in a cute little frosted glass pot and has more of dry matte consistency, almost like a cream eyeshadow but it isn’t dry and crumbly, it is also super smooth and blends beautifully. These provide a little more intense pigment. I love it in Posey for cheeks, and I also have Ballerina which is a neutral almond shimmer that looks gorgeous on eyelids or for a sunkissed look on cheeks in the summer. All of these are 100% natural, vegetarian, and gluten free.
Josie Maran Coconut Water Cheek Gelee $22
This is technically a gelée (a cosmetic gel, the word originating from the French for jelly) and is 50% coconut water so it is very hydrating. It has a sort of translucent base and so blends right in. It also contains pure Argan oil (of course, this is what Josie’s line is known for) and Vitamin E. It is free of parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrance. It comes in a cute little glass pot and is available in six colors. I tried it in Honeymoon Honey which at first I thought might be too dark but after using it a few times I really like it. And this is weird to say, but I think it actually works really well because it is very close to the color of blood – and hey that’s what gives us a natural flush in the first place! Would love to try one of their more pink tones too though.
Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm $34
I don’t use this one as often to be honest, but I’m not sure why. It is definitely worth mentioning because it is 100% natural and made with 85% certified organic ingredients. They call this a beauty balm because it is formulated with organic olive oil and coconut oil and is very moisturizing. It can be used on lips, cheeks, eyes, décolletage etc. I have it in the shade Blushed which is very bright pink and best used on cheeks and lips. I had it in Bronzed also but gave it to my mom and she absolutely loves this product. It’s a great multitasker.
What about you? Do you like cream blush and if so which do you love to wear?
