I’ve recently tried a few things from the new (in the last few years anyway) brand Antonym Cosmetics. Their bamboo containers were what first caught my eye, but when I found out their entire makeup line is Ecocert certified I was more than intrigued. As far as I know they are the only Ecocert certified line of natural and organic makeup out there right now. Their line doesn’t offer a huge range of products and colors (yet), but they seem to be adding more all the time so this is definitely a line to watch!

Ecocert Certified Organic Baked Blush $35

This comes in two shades and I tried it in peach (copper is the other). It has a beautiful swirl of baked colors in it from hard packed peach, to a creamy apricot highlighter type shade. When you go over it with the brush it picks up a blend of them for a very natural and transparent color. It feels silky and weightless and is nonirritating. On my fair skin it gives a great peachy glow that looks very natural glow. I typically prefer a more rosy blush, but this looks great, especially in summer. Though I do hope they make a pink shade in the near future. I love that because it is a baked blush and very hard packed it is hard to put too much on and you really have to layer it if you want to build the color. In other words, it is hard to mess up (no clown face here!). The bamboo case is really lovely and has a magnetic closure.

Blush brush $20

I LOVE this blush brush!!! It has become my number one favorite blush brush and I use it for this blush compact as well as pretty much every other baked or powder blush I own right now. Antonym brushes are professional quality and made with eco-friendly and cruelty-free materials. The bristles are top quality PBT, the best material for synthetic brushes. It is super soft and has great pickup. I love that it doesn’t irritate my skin at all and the handle (which is extra-long) is made of sustainable bamboo. It is also certified vegan. It is well balanced and just feels wonderful to hold too.

Ecocert certified natural waterproof eye pencil $18

I also tried out their black eye pencil which is waterproof. It is very soft and smooth to apply and is a true black. What I love about this eye pencil besides that it is 100% natural origin, and free of preservatives, is that it comes with a sharpener that fits snug right on the back of it (and with a cap on top of that to keep it clean). So awesome for travel, and for those of us who just seem to lose those little stand-alone pencil sharpeners (me).

Antonym Noir Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil

It contains moisturizing ingredients and natural antioxidants, marula oil, jojoba oil, candelilla and carnauba which are all excellent for sensitive skin. 100% of the total ingredients are of natural origin. 11.9% of the total ingredients are from Organic Farming. Natural cosmetic certified by Ecocert greenlife according to Ecocert standard.

If I try any other products from Antonym I’ll be sure to report! xo – Naomi

Yes, it does. Great for if you want a less defined line or to smoke it out a bit, but it doesn’t fully set like some “longwear” ones. I like Butter London for a non-smudge liner that stays put for a long day/night. It isn’t as natural as this one of course, but is paraben-free.

It’s so great that more companies are investing their time and ethics into getting ecocert. I wish every company did still though.

The Antonym blush doesn’t have shimmer particles in it but it has a very slight sheen in the lighter parts of it. It isn’t absolute matte but is very close.
