Welcome back for another day of Juice Beauty reviews! Today I’m going over products I’ve tried that fall into the makeup section. I suppose the perfecting foundation and refining finishing powder could technically fall into this category as well, but I filed them under the complexion category for the purpose of these posts and you can check them out in yesterday’s part 1 post.
Juice Beauty’s makeup might not come in 20+ shades (companies who do typically aren’t using natural or organic ingredients) but the ones they do offer so far I find to be universally flattering. And let’s not forget, this makeup feeds your skin!
I tried this powder blush in pink (also comes in fig). At first glance I thought it was going to be way too bright but it gives a super beautiful, healthy pink glow. Still you only need a tiny bit on the end of your kabuki brush to get the desired effect with this one. This shade would look good on many people and gets its gorgeous coloring from organic acai, goji, blueberry, pomegranate, and cranberry. I found this matte finish blush to last a very long time so it is great for all-day wear.
At first I thought this gloss was going to be too thin, but it turns out it is now one of my favorite glosses! I awarded it best gloss in the Natural Beauty Awards for Sweet Violet Bride’s premier issue because it gives a gorgeous shine without being too glassy (read plastic-like) and it wears for hours but slowly hydrates and soaks in instead of sitting on surface and congealing as non-natural glosses can do. The colors are subtle and seem to light up my whole face. Plus they smell slightly of orange oil which is a nice change from the typical berry scent we’ve all come to expect from glosses (not that I don’t love the scent of berries but different can be good). Seen below is pink, fig, and champagne. It also now comes in guava.
The pink shade of this has become one of my favorite lip products (I also like it in fig, but more for fall). This goes on so smooth, is such a gorgeous color, and wears so nicely…almost like a balm but with more substance to it without being heavy either. Gives lasting color while keeping lips hydrated. I’m in love. The pink also has a tiny bit of very fine shimmer in it (the fig appears to have a little in the tube but isn’t noticeable after applying which I’m fine with and is very layerable). Similar to the Reflecting Gloss these have organic agave and sweet orange natural sweeteners providing a great aroma.
First of all, please not that these look more vibrant in real life and I had a hard time capturing the swatches in a photo. The key to these is that they are illuminating and sheer not color-packed so that is probably why. I like the subtlety of these eyeshadows which come in three earthy tones of which I tried Cappuccino and Champagne (also comes in Chocolate). They provide just a sheer shimmer that looks very natural. I love the champagne color for highlighting the below the brow bone and inner eye best. I found that these are best applied over a primer if using alone because some of the natural mineral reflectors in it had a tendency to flutter away on dry skin. They’d be great layered over other colors.
