I’ve tested a LOT of lip glosses during the past 12 months, and I’m writing today about the ones that have made it into my top ten – and not only are they my favorites, they’re all natural. What exactly goes into determining which ones make the cut? Quality ingredients, consistency, color, natural scent if any, application experience, wearability, and just overall satisfaction after having tried them multiple times across different days, times, and moods. In other words, these are the ones I keep coming back to time and again. If you’re looking to try out a few new lip glosses (and a girl can never have too many) then I’d highly recommend the following.
Pacifica Enlightened Gloss
Mmmm, these mineral glosses are infused with coconut and antioxidants, and smell so good! These became an instant favorite the second I first tried one. Smooth, creamy, soft, moisturizing, and super pretty. Illuminating you might say…
$12 ea. Preferred Colors: Opal, Beach Kiss
Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss
The prettiest shimmer, with zero stickiness I’ve found. It has orange oil in it which gives it a sweet orange scent. It moisturizes with sesame seed oil and soaks into lips overtime instead of congealing like some glosses can. Contains antioxidant-rich berries, minerals and sweet agave. Comes in four flattering colors. $15 ea. Preferred Colors: Pink
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Natural Juicy Lip Gloss
Smells delicious but not overpowering and moisturizes while giving a gorgeous tint of color. Colored with fruit and vegetable pigments instead of minerals or synthetic dyes. 12 delicious colors, some non-shimmery translucent, and some with shimmer. 100% natural, 100% vegetarian, gluten free. $15 ea. Preferred Colors: Pink Peach, Strawberry (both non-shimmer)
Intelligent Nutrients Certified Organic Lip Delivery Antioxidant Gloss
The brush applicator takes some getting used to (you really have to squeeze the tube to get it out) but its great if you like to apply gloss a tiny bit at a time. These are super moisturizing and give your lips a slightly stained look that might make people wonder is she wearing lip gloss? Not super shiny unless you really layer it on thick. They do have a strong berry smell. Gluten free, and certified organic by New Mexico Department of Agriculture. $24.50 ea. Preferred Colors: Pink Hibiscus
Osmia Organics Lip Gloss
My favorite for fall and winter, though this amazing balm/gloss might have you addicted all four seasons. Ultra silky and conditioning. Read the full review here.
$18 ea. Preferred Colors: Luster
Revolution Organics Freedom Gloss
The scent of this one might take a little getting used to, but if you aren’t looking for a gloss that smells like some sort of berry then you’ll probably take quite a liking to it. The light scent is just from the organic oils that are used in it. The texture is a rich, silky smooth blend of 100% natural and 85% certified organic ingredients. $26 ea. Preferred Colors: Integrity, truth, innocent
Vbeaute Lip-Spread
One of the most opaque glosses I’ve found. They have the color strength of a lipstick in the smooth, hydrating consistency of a gloss. Also has a BioCellular Peptide which reduces fine lines. Vegan, Gluten Free, Paraben Free, Fragrance Free, Nut Free, Oat Free. $19 ea. Preferred Colors: Virgin, Vain
L’Eclisse Natural Lip Gloss
Rich, creamy, and natural…oh, and they smell like hot chocolate! No joke! Probably due to the cocoa butter. These come in 10 soft shimmering shades and glide on silky smooth. Preservative-free and certified organic.
$19 ea. Preferred Colors: Moonstone, Rubedo
jane iredale PureGloss Lip Gloss
Juicy and delicious! These deliver a gorgeous shine, pretty tints (18 shades to choose from!), and have a quality sponge applicator. Features Moringa butter and avocado oil. I admit they’re the slightly stickier than the other glosses listed here, but still not super sticky, and they wear for a really long time because of their consistency. These are addicting and you’ll probably want to collect them all. $24 ea. Preferred Colors: Cosmo, Nectar, Soft Peach
Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Gloss
This creamy formula is made of a nourishing blend featuring sunflower oil which absorbs easily and doesn’t feel greasy. It’s also rich in the essential fatty acid Linoleic Acid, and Palmitic and Stearic Acids, all great for healthy skin. 12 beautiful pearlized colors. I take these everywhere with me. $9 ea. Preferred Colors: Spring splendor, Rosy Dawn, Ocean Sunrise
