Today’ I’m excited to share with you one of my favorite companies, Bite Beauty. Specifically, I’ll go over my experience with their Luminous Creme Lipstick, Lush Lip Tint, High Pigment Pencils, and Superfruit Butter. They originally sent me samples last year so I could consider them for the first print issue of Sweet Violet Bride (which is why they’re all peachy pink hues), and I loved them so much I ended up including not one but three of their amazing products. Bite Beauty’s slogan is “lip color that’s good enough to eat,” and they make their products with lip nurturing food-grade ingredients. A comforting thought when you know you can’t help but ingest a little of your lip products – it just happens.
What they’re formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Synthetic Fragrances
– Synthetic Dyes
– Petrochemicals
– Phthalates
– GMOs
– Triclosan
High Pigment Pencils $24 ea.
These provide matte (maybe semi-matte) lip color. I love the vibrancy, even in these lighter shades. I tried Madeira (nude pink), Syrah (nude peach), and Bouquet (peachy pink). These contain super antioxidant resveratrol, which fights free radicals with potent long-term anti-aging benefits. According to the Sephora website where they’re exclusively sold, each lip pencil contains the amount of resveratrol found in five glasses of red wine. I’ll cheers to that! They glide on super smooth and are easy to apply because of their pencil shape. They twist up so you don’t need to sharpen and are also surprisingly moisturizing for lipsticks in the matte category. I’m tempted to buy these in every color.
Lush Lip Tint $24 ea.
I tried this in Lychee and it is the perfect nude color. The consistency manages to be silky, creamy, and glossy all at once and this tint/balm feels so good to wear. It is nourishing and smooth and just adds a tiny bit more polish than a clear balm does. I take it with me everywhere. contains pure argan oil, vitamin E and fruit butters to hydate, nourish, and revitalize lips. The color is layerable and the center B provides resveratrol, a double dose of antioxidants found in red wine.” I haven’t tried any of the other more vibrant 7 colors this comes in, but this is honestly one of my favorite products of all time.
Luminous Creme Lipstick $24 ea.
I admit, I wasn’t much of a lipstick wearer before I tried Bite Beauty’s Luminous Creme Lipsticks. I was always more of a tint and gloss girl because most of the lipsticks I had tried were kind of dry and just seemed hard to wear, but these are moisturizing and seem to stay in place. I tried them in Rose and Zin. Rose is a beautiful pink (with just the slightest hint of peach) that could just as easily be worn in the spring as it can in the summer and fall, and Zin is a gorgeous muted berry / wine hue. Perhaps my favorite thing about these is that they’re very layerable and long lasting (and they smell great, as all Bite Beauty products do). Because they’re so layerable you can also dab onto cheeks and blend right in. The cases are super nice quality as well with a twist up that isn’t at all loose so you don’t have to fear them rolling up in your purse. Like the High Pigment Pencils each lipstick contains the amount of resveratrol found in five glasses of red wine.
Superfruit Butter $18 ea.
Last but far from least is the Superfruit Butter. This is one of those products that I will buy again and again and honestly should probably stock up on in case they ever (God forbid) discontinue it for some reason. I use it to condition my lips morning and night, before applying lip color, and for any little bit of skin that might need moisturizing around the face or even nails and elbows. Each little fleck of color in these is a piece of fruit. This product is formulated with acai, blueberry, cranberry, and pomegranate, which have some of the highest oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) values of any food. It also contains shea butter, Palm butter, and Jojoba seed oil which work to nourish, protect, and moisturize, without feeling greasy. It is hands down the best all natural balm I’ve ever found.
BITE Beauty products are available exclusively at Sephora USA and Canada and via Sephora.com
There are a handful of other Bite Beauty products on my list to try as well. Perhaps there will be a part 2 to this post in the future! xo – Naomi

August 11, 2014 at 2:54 am (9 years ago)Hey Naomi! I just discovered this brand and am obsessed. I love their products. I’m looking for a shade that is somewhere between a red and berry that doesn’t pull either way too much and is a little muted. I’m considering Zin. Based on your experience with this one, do you think it’ll fit the bill?

It is definitely more of a berry shade, but definitely more red berry, not pink and I love that it is layerable, you can add just a touch of it for a muted look or layer it on for a bold look if you want. It is so pretty and I think you’ll love it : )
